Adding/Removing GPAs/GPCs from Mailing Lists

Adding a new Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) or adding anyone in the unit to the GPC email list

Once a program has appointed a Graduate Program Coordinator, the unit will need to add the GPC to MyGrad by using this link:

Request MyGrad Access

  1. Log in with your NetID
  2. Select from the following two categories:
    • Faculty: Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC)” – this designates the appointed person as GPC in the system. The GPC will have the ability to make final decisions on admissions and student services requests. The decisions will then be sent to the Graduate School.  This designation will also add the GPC to the GPC email list.
    • Title Only: Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC)“– this designation adds anyone from the unit to the GPC email list. No MyGrad permissions will be added. It is just to be added to the mailing list.
  3. Once a request is made, an authorized user in the unit will approve the request. An automated email is sent once access has been authorized.

If you are unsure who can approve your access request, please check the Unit Directory in MyGrad. All authorized approvers for a unit are listed there.

Adding New Graduate Program Advisors (GPA) or adding anyone in the unit to the GPA email list

  2. Select from the following two categories:
    • Staff: Graduate Program Advisor (GPA)” – this designates the appointed person as GPA in the system. The GPA will have the ability to make final decisions on admissions and student services requests. The decisions will then be sent to the Graduate School. This designation will also automatically add the GPA to the GPA email list. “Title Only: Graduate Program Advisor (GPA)“– this designation adds anyone from the unit to the GPA email list. No MyGrad permissions will be added. It is just to be added to the mailing list.
    • Once a request is made, an authorized user in the unit will approve the request. An automated email is sent once access has been authorized.
  3. All new GPAs are encouraged to schedule training with a GEMS advisor.

*Note: If a staff member already has access to MyGrad at the appropriate level for their role but would like to also be on the GPA email list, then select “Title Only: Graduate Program Advisor (GPA)“. This adds them to the email list without changing their MyGrad access level.
